We have made great strides, but perception of marijuana risk is low in our community. Parents, we need your help to focus on this topic as it will continue to be an issue with marijuana legalization and the beginning of recreational marijuana sales. Organized and hosted 4 free community events to engage and share resources with over 5,000 youth and adults. Distributed multilingual resources at all events.
Youth and coalition members participate in trainings as attendees and presenters at the state and national level.
Youth Leadership Council (YLC) students conducted vaping prevention presentations reaching over 150 of their peers.
Managed multiple marketing campaigns reaching over 1 million via website, social media, and streaming networks.
New Britain middle and highschoolers of the YLC are well-versed in prevention and have attended weekly meetings, worked as employees over the summer, and facilitated peer focus groups.
We have mobilized our 12 sectors of community partners to collaborate on tackling the issue of youth substance use and prevention.
